Appointments
Like most modern practices we have an appointment system.
Appointments with your doctor may be made by telephone in advance. We also keep a number of appointments for each doctor, which can only be booked on the day. It will help us if you can plan ahead, and not leave requests for routine problems until the last moment.
If you feel you will need a longer consultation please request a double appointment.
Telephoning the Surgery
If you need to telephone the surgery please do not call before 9.00 unless:
- You need an appointment with a Doctor or Nurse for that day
For everything else, please telephone after 9.00 – e.g.
- You need to speak to the Duty Doctor that morning
- To speak to administration
- To speak to dispensary
- To check on a prescription
- To make an appointment for a future day
It will make it easier for you to get through to the surgery for urgent things between 8.30 and 9.00 if you can leave anything that is not urgent until after 9.00.
Duty Doctor
If you need to be seen on the same day please call before 11.00 am. If it is not possible to offer you an appointment you can request a telephone call from the duty doctor. The duty doctor will call you and may be able to advise you over the telephone to save a visit to the surgery. If not, they may arrange for you to speak to your own doctor or in an emergency make an appointment for that day with a doctor.
