Out of Hours Service
If you need medical advice when the surgery is closed please call 111. You can ring 111, 365 days a year, to reach a full range of local health services, including out of hours, doctors, community nurses, emergency dental care and late opening chemists.
There are no Saturday morning surgeries. If you have an urgent medical problem on a Saturday morning or any other time out of hours, which you feel needs to be dealt with before Monday morning, you will need to ring 111.
However, if you have an urgent medical problem between the hours of 8.00 and 8.30 am Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) please call 03000 243 334.
Accident and Emergency
The Minor Injury Unit at Abingdon Hospital, Marcham Road, Abingdon is open 10am – 10:30pm daily. Staff there are able to treat: minor bumps to the head, sprains, broken bones, fractures and dislocated fingers, minor burns, cuts and bruises, nose bleeds, bites and stings, simple ear, nose and eye complaints such as removal of splinters or foreign bodies.
When the Minor Injury Unit is closed the nearest emergency department is the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington, Oxford. Tel: 01865 741166.
