Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  What is a patient group/patient participation group?

A. This is a group of volunteer patients who relay information about patients’ views to the Practice and give patients information about Practice services and any changes planned.

Q. Will my doctor see this information?

A. No. This information is purely to contact patients for the reasons given above.  The Practice GPs might see general feedback from patients, but this will remain anonymous.

Q. Who else will be able to access my contact details?

A. Your contact details will be kept safely and securely and will be used only by the PPG Chairperson, database administrator and Secretary.

Q. How often will you contact me?

A. About every two months to give you information about the PPG meetings; and very occasionally to ask for your opinion on Practice services

Q. What if I no longer wish to be on the contact list or if I leave the surgery?

A. Simply email the PPG Chairperson or Secretary

Q. What information does the PPG hold about me and for what purpose?

A. The PPG holds only your name and email address.  We use this information to inform you about our meetings and to circulate the Minutes.  Occasionally we also send out patient surveys, and forward carefully selected health service information which may be of interest to you.
