Treatments From Your Local Pharmacist

If you are a non-pregnant female aged 16-64 and you have symptoms of a urine infection, you do not need to contact your GP for a prescription. You can obtain the appropriate treatment from your local Pharmacist. The treatment recommended is Nitrofurantoin (the recommended antibiotic for urinary tract infections). A full list of Oxfordshire participating pharmacies can be found by visiting our OCCG Nitrofurantoin Patient Group Direction (PGD) information leaflet, along with the agreed protocol.
