PPG Event – Medical Research
NHS Research Update with Special Guest Speakers
Sunday, 26th October 2025 at Marcham Road Health Centre
The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is holding another event on medical research, this time focussing on diabetes.
If you are a patient of Marcham Road Health Centre, you are cordially invited to attend.
Speakers:
- A practice patient who has volunteered to participate in an NHS research programme will talk about their experience and welcome comments and questions from you.
- Guest Speaker, Dr Olga Kozlowska, Post Doctoral Researcher, Oxford Brookes University. Dr Kozlowska has been developing a programme of research into long-term conditions, including diabetes. She would like to talk about her project and also ask you all about what works and doesn’t work for people in terms of learning about diabetes (known as ‘patient education’ or ‘structured education’).
- Carley Moore, Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Carley would like to explain a bit about her project around the ‘research pillar of advanced practice’ and also ask for your thoughts about her findings. Any suggestions or comments you may have will be welcome.
The event will take place in the ground floor waiting room. Doors will open at 10.45am and the session will conclude at 12.30pm.
Important Information:
Attendance is limited to no more than 30 persons who must be patients of the practice.
Admission will be refused if your attendance has not been confirmed prior to the event. This is to ensure compliance with fire regulations.
